1920’s Glendale row house

The 1920s row house in Glendale, Queens, underwent a remarkable transformation under the guidance of Office of Things, a design firm recommended to homeowners Gary Comorau and Regina O'Malley. The renovation focused on the cramped and dark ground level, introducing light and playful elements to revitalize the space. Key changes included removing walls to open up the floor plan and adding archways to improve light flow and create a cohesive design theme. Vibrant colors, such as red-painted window frames and pale mint arches, were used to enhance the energetic atmosphere. The renovation also featured practical upgrades like custom oak millwork, which provided additional storage and a more functional layout. The result was a bright, welcoming home that seamlessly blended modern design with the character of the original structure, meeting all the couple’s needs for a more inviting and versatile living space.
